Hi! I’m Dawn, a Critical Incident Specialist and Chaplain. Twice a week I sit in a “circle of courage” with cancer patients. I haven’t had cancer myself, but my dear husband did; he died in 2022. So, I’m a retired caregiver and an active facilitator among this amazing group of people.

It’s my privilege to work with the heroic men and women of Law Enforcement. I am honored to call them my friends, to provide training, and to participate in guided conversations that help them begin their process of recovery following tragedy.

Years ago, I was an adventure-seeking kid who fell in love with the accordion before I was old enough to carry one and have been playing ever since. I’m thrilled, not only to be in a local folk band that plays jigs, reels, and old-time melodies around town, but also to squeeze worship out of my box in the praise band at church.

I love pedaling bike paths, hiking wooded trails, and rowing the wooden boat my dad built. I drive a bright lime green Jeep that brings a smile not only to my face, but also to those around me. My newest friend is a teardrop camper named “Pilgrim,” a boondock version that can go off-grid. These all provide great connections with my grandkids.

But I have faced trials that filled me with doubt. I wrestled with God for two years. He intersected my path with people who helped me face the unthinkable. They stayed with me through to the other side to a new perspective and a growing faith made possible only through struggle.

Perhaps you are making your way through the unthinkable too. Our worst times can become life-defining moments that empower us to maximize the potential of difficulty as we stand on the rock-solid faithfulness of God.

After you browse my website I hope to meet you at my blog, “Treasures from the Teardrop.”
